Aloha all

hope the Easter hols were fun! Well I'm back and looking forward to District camp next weekend. I will contact all those going on camp with final notes in the next day or so when I have talked to Wendy (Hathie).

But I wanted to let  you all know about the up and coming Woodland Explorers meetings. For those that don't know them, here is the web address - http://www.btinternet.com/~ja.blasco/dalgetybaywoodland/

I will put a link to it in the links page soon when I get permission from them to do so. Although not a scouting event we get a few cubs going and I usually go when I can. So here are the details for those who are interested.

"April 25th: bug hunt in Crowhill Wood, and weather permitting we'll then walk to Braefoot Point and have a picnic there. Meet at the bottom of the steps at the end of Sealstrand at 10.30 a.m. If the weather's good, bring a picnic if you fancy the walk to Braefoot, if it's poor weather we'll just do a bughunt in Crowhill Wood. Details of this meeting WON'T be in the Diary, I'm afraid.

May 2nd: pond dipping at Jamestown Pond. I have an article on this one in the Diary, but not all of you will get it in time, so here is an extract with the relevant information:

May’s meeting will be the ever popular pond dipping at Jamestown Pond. We have always found newts at this site in the past, as well as plenty of other (mostly muddy) stuff. We’ll meet at the adjacent car park at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 2nd May. Please make sure everyone is wearing wellies and preferably clothing that doesn’t mind getting muddy. If you have your own pond dipping equipment, do bring it along. For those of you who haven’t been before, the pond is along Cruickness Road, Inverkeithing, the road that leads to the quarry, where the breaker’s yard is. The car park is on the right side of this road. Coming from Dalgety Bay, go through Inverkeithing, heading for Ferrytoll. Before you get to Ferrytoll, take the turning on the left under the railway bridge, and then the first left, which is Cruickness Rd."

I'll update again soon.

Paul.
