Aloha all.
LOOK! - Link to Barries youtube of St. Georges Camp. Featuring YOUR SONS & DAUGHTERS as well as others.
I hope all are recovered from the weekend. It started well with parents helping to set up camp and many thanks to those parents who were able to help. It makes a real difference.
Friday night was taken up with getting settled in and doing some wide games, some work towards the Communication Badge and camp skills. Later our now famous 'midnight walk' was undertaken by all and after a quick super all were of to bed by midnight - ish!
Sat saw us splitting into two groups and doing backwoods cooking run by the Explorer section and more communication work with help from the local Fife amateur Radio Group. After a stovie lunch all sections came together for joint activities for the afternoon. When all had gathered we got in two mixed groups of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and an adult. We worked through 10 adventurous stations such as making paper towers and making safe a radio active waste flask. After a delayed barbeque dinner supplied and cooked by the Group Exec Committee we got ready for a Camp Fire sing along for the Beavers and then off to the main Camp fire with all the sections and groups on site. Phew.. then gladley off to bed.
Sunday saw us rising early and finishing off the communications badge work with the Inverkeithing Cubs and their leaders Darian and Helen. Whilst all was going on the camp was being packed up by the two adult helpers we had on camp and without whom we would have struggled to get everything done.
Finaly a quick lunch and ended with our St Geoge's Day Service. (St. George is the patron saint of Scouting).
I would like to thank many but we limit it for now to the two adult helpers, Wendy (Hathie), The Explorers Section, the local Radio Club, parents who helped seting up camp, the cubs and of course Akela and Chil from Moday night Cubs.
Badges and certificates will be given out at Friday Pack meeting.
